I'm an aunt!

There is a big long drama story behind this child but I cant type it all out now. To make it short, her mom (My brothers girlfriend) had all kinds of problems during her pregnancy. Mostly because she had a horrible diet and just didn't care. She didn't read one book while pregnant and has not seen the baby since its been born. And doesn't really seem to care. :( I'm sure she does but its just sad. You would think the nurses would be trying to encourage the mother/child bond... After hearing everything they have done to her I'm am even more scared of hospitals. I will NEVER give birth in a hospital. I was thinking about how my midwife encouraged me to read a lot and do tons of research and really make informed decisions on everything. No one encouraged my SIL to read anything. She is just expected to trust the almighty doctor. And they really do treat birth like it is a sickness.( I guess in her case it really was) Its really sad. She was cheated out of a beautiful birth experience and doesn't even know it. Prolly doesn't care. And, to make matters worse, has no interest in breastfeeding. Agh! We are going to go see her tomorrow. Besides all the bad stuff. Im happy for my brother and excited to be an aunt! Hopefully everything will work out for the best. Im sure it will.

Besides that nothing really interesting has happened. Oh!! And (( back to SIL)) they restricted her fluids but let her drink SODA!!! Soda!! aaggghhh! I can go on forever...Shutting up again....LOL Thankfully I have my mom to talk smack with. My mom had all of us at home and is totally cool. :) Love you mom!

Anyways, I got this great book "Last-Minute Knitted Gifts" by Joelle Hoverson. I really like it! I cant wait to knit everything up! :P

Gotta go. Bree is hanging on me saying "ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma." Oh! I heard a great quote!

"A man's work is from sun to sun, but a mother's work is never done." ~Author Unknown

Ain't that the truth!

I am so sad for babies like that who have traumatic birth experiences and will never get to have any yummy momma's milk. Maybe the mom will come around after some bonding time with her beautiful baby.
