We got a call today and a friend just found out he has leukemia and only has a week to live. How awful! He's not a very close friend, he is a former employee but he is a really nice guy. He has 2 young boys. He loves his kids. He lives for his kids. I want to do something for him but what? If we go see him what do we say? I don't want to take time away from his family so we can go sit in awkward silence. I thought about sending flowers but how lame is that? I don't know what to do. But I want to do something. I tried to put myself in his shoes but I can't. The guy just found out he has a week to live. How horrible. I guess all we can do is pray. And hug our husbands! Poor guy. Poor kids.

Oh man Katie....you are having a rough night. :( What horrible news. It sure makes you appreciate your family. I don't know what I would do either. It seems like a card woudl even be inappropriate. Like "I'm sorry you're sick?" Ugh....I dunno. Sorry I am no help.

Wow...I have no idea what you should do. Bringing food would be more useful than flowers or a card, but even that seems lame. I can't imagine what his family is going through.
