Hug your babies

My purpose in telling you this is so that you will learn from my mistake. I had the scare of a lifetime today.

Bree was sitting on my lap playing with my tea bottle and somehow got the whole cap (the thing is about the size a half dollar!) stuck in her throat. She turned purple. I of course, freaked out and screamed for Steve (who was passed out and didn't hear me.) Meanwhile sticking my finger down her throat trying to get it out. Thankfully it came out. But OMG, what if it didn't? What if I had shoved it deeper instead of taking it out? What if it was really stuck? I wouldn't know what to do! I totally panicked. She was purple. I NEVER want to see her purple again. NEVER. I thought she was passed the chocking hazard stage. It scared the (excuse my language) shit out of me. So go hug your babies and never think you are safe! AGH!! That was so scary. I'm gonna have nighmares about that.

I remember when I was a teenager and me and my sister got in a car accident. My mom had this awful look on her face and I didn't understand what was wrong. I mean, I knew she was worried about my sister (she got banged up pretty bad) But we were ok. NOW I UNDERSTAND. Being a mom is ... I cant even think of the right word. LOL You moms know what I mean.

Besides THAT, today went well. Bree woke up on her own at 9:30. My lazy butt tried to sleep until 10. But she pried my eyes open and said "hi mama!" Which made me laugh so she knew I was awake. Lil booger. But, the good side to that is she is already down for the night. Woohoo! I should go to bed too but I'm not even tired. And I'm *so* not wasting my free time by sleeping! I think I'll go knit. :P

OMH KATIE!!! How scary! I would be a bloody wreck if that had happened to Kenya. I feel so sorry for you to be so scared. Thanks for the reminder to watch closely what our babes are playing with. I know Kenya isn't over the choking hazard age yet.
